Overview
Bakka’s mines and yards serve the same long demand. Ore comes out of the ground, hulls occupy the docks, and skilled hands are needed at every stage before a ship can return to service. A vessel brought in badly damaged may consume months of work from people who will never leave the system.
The fleets of the southern Imperium depend on that work. Keeping a ship in motion means keeping its machinery alive through wear, battle damage and parts that cannot always be replaced as specified. Bakka gives crews a chance to make good what they have been nursing through the void. The chance lasts only until the next sailing order.
