Overview
Sanctum is the homeworld of the White Templars, a world of mountain ranges and verdant plains whose techno-barbarian tribes furnish aspirants for the Chapter and its fortress-monastery, Holdfast.
Its position on the Solar/Pacificus march is disputed even in Imperial records — some sources place the Formidyre System in Segmentum Solar, others in Pacificus — and the approximate marker reflects that uncertainty.
In the Era Indomitus it was designated an Anchor World of the Fourth Tyrannic War, its defence a hinge of the wider battle for the region.
M41 and M42 status
Chapter homeworld of the White Templars in the Formidyre System.
Anchor world of the Fourth Tyrannic War; still plagued by Tyranids.
Timeline
White Templars muster rolls record steady recruitment from the mountain tribes.
The fortress-monastery Holdfast expands its reclusiam and training reaches.
Warp storms of the opening Great Rift isolate the Formidyre System for a time.
As an Anchor World of the Fourth Tyrannic War, Sanctum is invaded by Hive Fleet Grendyllus in the Battle of Bastior; the assault is blunted with the aid of Trajann Valoris and Lord Solar Leontus, though Tyranids plague the world still.
Cartographic positions and several administrative details are intentionally approximate where published Warhammer sources conflict or provide no canonical coordinate system.
