Overview
Chogoris is a feral world of broad steppes, hard weather, clan tradition, and motion given cultural authority. Its societies remember distance not as emptiness but as challenge.
The world supplies the White Scars with a language of speed, pursuit, and disciplined independence. It is primitive by administratum categories and strategically refined by any honest cavalry officer.
History
Chogoris' clan structures and steppe warfare endured because they produced aspirants suited to a Chapter whose doctrine favors movement and decisive violence. Imperial modernization was never the point.
Its history is therefore preserved in a state useful to recruitment, with local myth and Imperial necessity reinforcing one another.
Military significance
The White Scars are tied to rapid assault, mobile warfare, encirclement, and the refusal to let static doctrine become a tomb. Chogorian recruits bring cultural fluency in speed before power armor teaches it anew.
The world matters because it produces warriors who treat the battlefield as a horizon to be crossed and broken.
M41 and M42 status
Feral world and White Scars home.
M41 status: Chogoris remains a Chapter home world in the eastern reaches, loyal and culturally distinct.
Invaded by the Red Corsairs (War for Chogoris), then reclaimed and left scarred.
M42 status: As the Rift was born the expanding Maelstrom licked at the Yasan Sector, and Huron Blackheart's Red Corsairs fell upon Chogoris — the War for Chogoris, whose siege of Quan Zhou was broken by Kor'sarro Khan once the Noctis Aeterna lifted. The world was reclaimed but badly scarred, and endures on the Sanctus side of the Rift with routes made unreliable and its traditions of autonomy now operational necessity.
