Overview
Mordian’s hives raise soldiers accustomed to darkness and close control. Rations, public discipline and the demands of crowded cities leave little room for a private life. In the regiments, those habits are pressed into drill until a command can move a line of men almost as one body.
The Iron Guard carry that precision into wars where keeping formation can require them to stand beside the place a comrade occupied a moment earlier. Officers prize their steadiness. The recruits learn how much can happen between an order to hold and permission to move.
