Overview

Baal is a harsh, irradiated chapter world of red deserts, fortress-monasteries, and moon-scarred approaches. Its beauty, where present, is austere and usually recorded in the same breath as thirst, mutation, and death.

The world belongs to the Blood Angels in the deepest cultural sense. Nobility and hunger, artistry and violence, sacrifice and flaw all orbit the Baalite archive.

History

Baal's people endured environmental ruin and became a recruitment base for one of the Imperium's most storied Chapters. Its history is made of defense, ritual, and the management of a noble curse that no official record fully explains.

The system's later devastation by xenos assault transformed Baal from distant chapter world into a sign of Nihilus survival.

Military significance

The Blood Angels and their successors draw spiritual and strategic identity from Baal. Their warfare combines shock assault, aerial violence, disciplined nobility, and a terrible awareness of inner darkness.

Baal's military significance lies in Chapter continuity. The world is a root; if it dies, many branches remember the wound.
