Overview
A warship approaching Terra may spend its last quiet hours in the yards of Luna. Here its hull is opened, its damaged guns removed and its dead taken ashore. Repair crews work beneath batteries watching the same approaches that brought the vessel home. There is little distance left in which to stop an enemy.
Terra’s old moon is crowded with naval facilities, fortified stations and installations whose original purposes survive in restricted archives. Much of its work attracts no pilgrims. Ships must be made ready, traffic moved and the defences kept supplied. The next emergency will arrive with orders granting it priority over everything already waiting.
