Overview

There is no air to breathe outside the protected installations on Deliverance. Mines, domes and fortified structures occupy a barren surface beneath the Ravenspire. Men still go down into the moon for its minerals, while the Raven Guard use the heights once held by their overseers.

The moon was called Lycaeus when prisoners worked it for Kiavahr’s Tech-Guilds. Its present name records the revolt that freed them. A visitor can look up from the mining works towards the Chapter’s fortress and see how closely that past is built into the place. Deliverance remains inhabited, defended and useful to the warriors whose history began among its captives.

History

Corax grew up among the prisoners working for Kiavahr’s Tech-Guilds. He trained resistance cells and prepared the uprising that broke their control. The former captives renamed Lycaeus after the freedom they had won.

The overseers’ stronghold became Raven Guard headquarters. After Isstvan V, Corax attempted to rebuild his Legion there. Alpha Legion interference helped destroy that effort, bringing another form of betrayal into the recovered fortress.

Military significance

The Ravenspire anchors the Chapter’s home while mineral extraction continues around it. The Blackchine Redoubts guard mines and spaceports through concealed strongpoints and misleading approaches. An attacker has to establish where the defences are before the installations behind them can be taken.

M41 and M42 status

Raven Guard home moon and fortified mining centre.

Deliverance remains the Raven Guard’s fortified home moon. Late-M41 accounts place it in the path of Waaagh! Garaghak.

M42 · Era Indomitus

Raven Guard home moon; detailed post-Rift condition unconfirmed.

The record retains Deliverance as the Chapter’s home. It does not establish a precise population or the outcome of a new local campaign after the Rift.

Timeline

Corax liberates Lycaeus, which is renamed Deliverance.

The Raven Guard's attempt to rebuild after Isstvan V is undermined by Alpha Legion sabotage.

Waaagh! Garaghak threatens the approaches to Deliverance.
