Overview
Bork’an’s universities and technical institutions turn discoveries into things an army can carry. A substantial Earth Caste population works between education, research and manufacture, supported by resources from the wider system. Soldiers sent out with experimental equipment sometimes have to establish its limits while an enemy is firing at them.
Before the T’au settled the world, it belonged to the Poctroon. Disease devastated that population, leaving the newcomers to inherit the planet. The account does not establish where the epidemic came from. Bork’an’s later achievements occupy a world whose first inhabitants disappeared before they could share in them.
History
The Poctroon inhabited the world before an epidemic devastated them. The T’au inherited it and founded a First Sphere sept. The origin of the disease remains unresolved in the account. Bork’an’s later scientific establishment made its scholars and students targets of an Imperial raid during M41.
Military significance
Local forces use advanced equipment supported by the system’s mineral resources and technical institutions. They also test devices whose failures may first become apparent in combat. The relationship gives researchers battlefield evidence at a cost borne most directly by the soldiers carrying the prototype.
M41 and M42 status
T'au centre of education, industry and research.
Bork’an remains an established centre of T’au research and manufacture. The work done by its academics makes them targets as well as contributors to the war effort.
Major sept; local post-Rift condition unconfirmed.
The sept retains its recognised importance. The cited sources do not establish a current population, infrastructure assessment or garrison strength after the Rift.

Chart placement and sources
Provisional placement
The viewed sixth-edition map places Bork'an below-left of T'au on the page.
This is a reproduced diagram relationship; the page has no explicit galactic north arrow.
Sixth-edition map reproduction, predating the Great Rift. Page-up is treated as chart-up for a consistent schematic layout; the source gives no north arrow. Galactic orientation and physical scale remain unverified. Regional symbols are representative points, not measured centres or borders.
