Overview
Dal’yth’s markets and embassies bring non-T’au visitors into a society that gives commerce considerable standing. Water Caste influence is visible in the work of making relationships profitable and durable. There are people here whose place in the empire depends on arrangements more complicated than shared species.
The Damocles Crusade brought Imperial forces into that developed world and badly damaged its cities. The sept survived, helped in recovery by the trade and transport links the invasion had threatened. Its inhabitants have had to practise diplomacy in the knowledge that the ships carrying a foreign delegation may travel by routes another foreign fleet could use.
History
Founded in the First Sphere, Dal’yth became a major objective of the Damocles Crusade. Imperial attacks damaged cities and colonies without eliminating the sept. Trade and transport helped it recover. Its connection to Puretide also places the world within the education of several prominent T’au commanders.
Military significance
The crusade demonstrated the force a trading world could bring to its defence. Visitors and resident non-T’au communities remain part of its importance, linking military survival to relationships beyond the founding species. No complete standing-garrison figure is provided in the sources.
