Overview

The Farsight Enclaves keep much of the civilisation they inherited from the T’au Empire while refusing the Ethereals’ authority over it. Their worlds have factories, cadres and families whose security now depends on a smaller power maintaining its independence. Vior’los serves as the capital.

Farsight’s followers established that realm after a campaign that carried them through ork wars and the encounter at Arthas Moloch. Shared ancestry still connects them to the empire beyond their borders. It does not give them access to all of its resources. Experienced troops and working defences matter particularly to a state that cannot absorb unlimited losses while arguing for the right to stand apart.

History

Farsight’s expedition followed the Damocles Crusade through ork campaigns and the traumatic encounter at Arthas Moloch. He refused the order to return and consolidated his holdings. Independence did not end shared ancestry or practical contact with the empire his followers had left.

Military significance

Battlesuit formations, Fire and Air Caste forces, local industry and volunteers support the Enclaves. The Eight serve as Farsight’s closest military companions. Limited resources place particular value on veteran cadres and fortified worlds; replacements cannot be assumed to match every loss.

M41 and M42 status

M41 · Pre-Rift

Independent T'au realm under Farsight.

The Enclaves maintain their own rule and defence following Farsight’s refusal to submit to the empire’s recall.

M42 · Era Indomitus

Independent realm threatened during the Arks of Omen.

During the Arks of Omen, Nazdreg’s orks and a Chaos Balefleet confront Farsight around Arthas Moloch. The subsequent condition and population of every Enclave world are not established by the cited accounts.

Chart placement and sources

Provisional placement

The viewed sixth-edition T'au map places Enclave symbols beyond the Damocles Gulf, above-left of the core on the page.

The point represents a dispersed group of systems. Its circular ring is illustrative; no exact territorial area is measured.

Sixth-edition map reproduction, predating the Great Rift. Page-up is treated as chart-up for a consistent schematic layout; the source gives no north arrow. Galactic orientation and physical scale remain unverified. Regional symbols are representative points, not measured centres or borders.
