Overview
Graia’s industry includes factories that can leave the planet beneath them. The Graian Crown carries engines capable of moving the complex away from a threatened world. Accounts of Graia do not always make clear whether they mean that travelling construction or the ground on which its history began.
Its soldiers are better known for holding their positions. Graian Skitarii serve calculations that can accept losses long after a human commander might have sought another course. The foundries and god-engines make the place valuable enough to defend at that cost. The survivors of its invasions have had ample opportunity to learn what their priests consider an acceptable expenditure.
History
Graia remained loyal during the Heresy. The much later ork and Chaos invasions depicted in Space Marine devastated facilities and brought an Inquisitorial quarantine. Further reports concern the Graian Crown’s departure and possible return, with accounts disagreeing over its subsequent location.
Military significance
Legio Astraman and Graian Skitarii give the forge world substantial force. Its troops hold positions under punishing conditions in obedience to commanders prepared to spend lives to complete a calculation. The soldiers bearing that cost have limited authority over the acceptable total.

The invasions badly damage Graia without ending its recorded history. Accounts of the planet and the mobile Crown can refer to different places under the same name.

Graian forces fight in post-Rift campaigns, including the Rust Fields. The Crown’s location remains uncertain. Older sources place Graia in Tempestus; Space Marine places it in eastern Ultramar. The chart’s provisional position does not resolve that conflict.

Disputed placement
The reproduced Mechanicus galaxy map places Graia west of Mars and Necromunda, south of Krieg; the Belt of Iron account supplies regional context.
The point follows the Tempestus interpretation. Space Marine's Ultramar placement remains contradictory; the mobile Crown is not a proven explanation for every map difference.
Source-reviewed regional estimate in the existing 0–1000 chart. The retained galaxy anchors, exact point and any ring size are not surveyed coordinates or territorial boundaries.
