Overview
Voss Prime draws raw material from the Mordan Belt and sends finished weapons towards wars that seldom seem far away. Armageddon lies close enough to make the demand particularly urgent. In the yards and manufactoria, proximity means more work whenever the fighting grows worse.
The forge world is called the Right Hand of Mars. Its own defences include the asteroid approaches and the god-engines of Legio Invigilata, but much of its power travels elsewhere in supply ships. The crews carrying those cargoes can see what an army requires to remain in the field. They are rarely shown how quickly it will consume it.
History
Voss Prime existed before the Imperium and renewed contact with Mars during the Age of Strife. The Great Crusade encountered an industrial power already able to bargain from its own strength. Its later reputation remains substantial, despite plasma engineering that falls short of its better specialities.
Military significance
Legio Invigilata gives the forge world its own god-engines. Manufacturing also supports Imperial armies and fleets operating beyond the system, particularly around Armageddon. Voss Prime near Armageddon is distinct from similarly named references to Voss near Terra.

Voss Prime supplies the Armageddon war effort. That connection makes its industry strategically important; it does not place every battle fought on Armageddon on the forge world’s own ground.
Imperial muster world for Operation Imperator
During the Noctis Aeterna, repair and replacement of mechanical forces kept the defence going against daemons. Calgar later assembled Space Marines and elements of Indomitus Fleet Sextus here for Operation Imperator, the relief of Armageddon.
