Overview
Urdesh has seas and volcanic country beyond its forge-cities. Its industry has made the world worth taking repeatedly, with weapons and vehicles continuing to matter to whichever army can control their manufacture. A change in the master of a factory can alter the destination of its output without making the labour any easier.
During the Sabbat Worlds Crusade, Chaos possession turned that production against the Imperial advance. Recovering Urdesh meant fighting for installations the victors would need intact. Gaunt’s Ghosts and the Iron Snakes fought in a campaign where devotion to Saint Sabbat and the need for armour brought men to the same killing grounds.
History
Urdesh joined the Imperium during the Great Crusade, supported the rebels in the Heresy and was eventually brought back into Imperial control. Chaos capture during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade again turned its factories towards the Archenemy. Retaking them became a campaign requirement.
Military significance
Urdeshi weapons and vehicles equip armies across the region. In the later fighting, Gaunt’s Ghosts confront Anarch Sek’s forces while the Iron Snakes defend the reincarnated Saint Sabbat. Industrial necessity and religious significance put several claims on the same ground.
M41 and M42 status
Liberated by crusade forces in 792.M41
Crusade forces liberate Urdesh in 792.M41 after years of contested control. Its factories have supplied both sides during the fighting. That liberation concludes the documented phase of the campaign.
Later planetary condition unverified
No post-Rift planetary report is available. Urdesh appears in Sabbat and Belt of Iron geography; varying map scales and fixed reference points leave its exact galactic position provisional.

Chart placement and sources
Provisional placement
The viewed Sabbat and Belt of Iron material supports both regional associations. The Mechanicus galaxy map places Urdesh north of Krieg and northwest of Graia.
The revised point preserves those directions within the existing schematic Sabbat region. The two regional memberships are compatible, but no exact alignment of their differently scaled maps has been established.
Source-reviewed regional estimate in the existing 0–1000 chart. The retained galaxy anchors, exact point and any ring size are not surveyed coordinates or territorial boundaries.
